trailer hitch

98 Jeep

I'm looking for a square trailer hitch, I have no intentions of hauling anything but I wanted the ones that are square. How exactly are they attached to the vehicle if the spare tire is under there? The guy who sold me the jeep suggested I go to U-haul where I'd probably get a good deal on one. Any suggestions?

I also have another question, why was I able to change my photo in my profile yet it is still the old one? Maybe I can get an answer to that one since one of my posts had 209 people read it yet not one had anything to say so I guess there isn't much interest around here, and I guess I should keep my distance from now on.

So I will say thank you to those of you who answered me in the past, it was really appreciated. I'm outta here.

I've had good experience with Uhaul brand hitches - they seem to be well made, and are affordable. You can buy the hitch from them and have it shipped to your door.

Thank you so much for the reply, the information provided was very helpful. Yes I was becoming very discouraged, you would think if over 200 people read your post just one might have an answer.

So I will try another one. I bought a 2005 JGC Laredo on the 19th of August. There are no fog lights at all, never were installed. Exactly what all do I need & where can I find a kit that contains everything I need? Is there any specific place that carries a great deal of Jeep items because I also need new weather stripping not on the drivers door but I guess the part of the car the door touches when it is closed. I have part numbers I am basically shopping around to get the best deal.

I so hope someone will answer this, thanks in advance.

I too have a 2005 JGC. Mine has the driving lights from the factory. You might try Ebay or your local junkyards. This vehicle is old enough it should be turning up in the pick-n-pull yards.

Thanks for the link, I really have no intentions of hauling anything, I have a Steeler & a Pittsburgh Penguin insert that goes into the square on the hitch. I like the one for 113.99 where there is no drilling. I just hope it is a standard size, but I have to buy weatherstripping first for the door which I did not notice was ripped when I bought it and I refuse to drive 2 hrs in bumper to bumper traffic with loads of construction to get it fixed. I wish I could have found something local but I just could not look at another vehicle. Thanks again

Well, where are you located? Maybe Hitchweb has a warehouse you can go pickup from?
