This is the CAT at the front not performing. Sounds like you have a bad CAT.

As far as top speed yes it will go down with the 2.5l until you regear.Most people cant even use 5th gear once you get put on 33's
 
Yup supercharger is the way to go. Or if you don't got the extra 2.gs laying around put some mods on it. When I had 33"s I barley had 5 gear with no low end power. I noticed a big difference when I put a e fan and a 4.0 throttle body on with my intake. Now I have 37"s and don't think my Jeep has been in 5 th gear in over a year lol maybe half way threw 4th at the most. Those two mods helped my Jeep stay at a constant speed in 5th gear on relatively flat freeway

Grab a electric fan off of a late 90s Ford Taurus or mercury cougar should cost about 20 bucks at your local junk yard. There is alot of write UPS on the Web on this mod. And how to wire it. I used a Hayden electric fan controller with temp. Probe. About 30 bucks at a local auto parts store. anouther one is to swap out your throttle body for a 4.0 throttle body find this at a junk yard or online.
 

Agree on the e-fan.
I run the flex-a-lite 485 fan.
Hear the 4.0 works. Just do some homework on what parts need to be swapped or kept...
