temperture sending unit

As I have found out with most jeeps the temperture sending unit is not very dependable and I would like to just mount one under the dash. The housing on the intake is small, is there an adapter that is used for this? I don't suppose there is hope for the fuel gauge.....I have a new tank and sending unit so I don't suppose that was the problem. Thanks yall for all the info that you share.[addsig]

There are brass adapters to screw into the intake manifold, available at quality auto parts stores like Napa.[addsig]

If you choose to get a new temp sending unit, be sure to bring your old one in to verify the new sending unit's length. The mounting hole for the sending unit is very shallow, and some sending unit have a longer shaft than the stock one. You might not be able to screw it in.
