I was reading a post a while ago and someone was talking about strapping down the transfer case so it won't move. Can someone tell me how you go about it.[addsig]

I dont know what year you have or motor size but in my 91 i was getting alot of move ment in my transmision and transfer case so bad that if i was in a bind and had to reverse the shifters would actually hit you in the leg, what i did was make a braket and attacted it to where the transmisson mount was that extended all the way to both sides of the frame and bolted them there the only thing is that you will have to get longer bolts for you mount depending on how thick you metal is that you use that did the trick for me never could figure out where all of my move ment was coming from, but i would recomend you first step being get some poly urithane mounts first those will stiff it up a whole bunch and they are fairly inexpensive the one for your transmission is a general motors mount that is cheaper than the one for the jeep, i didnt find that out till i went to a speed shop where the GM mount was 45.00 and the jeep mount was 65.00 and the ones for the motor are also around the same price

I was in on that post- What I was told to do was to buy some heavy duty tow strap, wrap in around the t-case in a spot that doesn't have any thing that will rub on the strap to much, then fasten the strap to the frame. Pretty simple and will keep the transfer case centered fairly closly if you ever snap the mounting bolt. Mine jumped one time after I broke the bolt, the driveshaft was on a 30 angle to the frame.....

, not good. With the strap, it should help keep things lined up until you can get home or to the shop to get it fixed.[addsig]
