SPRING OVER ON AN 82 CJ 7

the only difference there could be is steering.. that could be the reason us YJers need the tracbar

I had to relocate my stabilizer because the perches I welded on for the soa didn't have any way to attach it. I bought a dual stabilizer and went from the frame rail to the track bar instead... so you were right to question the sig pic... thats not stock, and my tie rod has no stabilizer connected.

Well I guess the 38s justify the SOA paired with the lift springs! That should work I would think. You may need longer brake line extentions than a basic soa kit gives you though...

this is the one I got...

There are others that sell it... do a search for soa kit on google.

dont mean to high-jack the post but...how important is it that the button on the center bolt holding the pack together is the same size as the hole in the spring perch? reason i ask is that the hole in the spring perchs i bought for my SOA is way bigger that the button on the center bolt.

How much bigger? It's a center bolt, to keep your spring pack center on the spring pack. It can be a little bigger, it's never a tight fit.

I know YJ's need a front trac-bar because the shackles are in front, which become unstable around corners. With CJ's, are the hangers in the front...or what? If the hangers are in front, then it woud be fine to take the front trac-bar off.

EDIT: wow, this post came up much later than when I initially pushed "submit". Guess it doesn't really fit in as well down here :?

I think the trackbars have as much to do with the improved ride of a YJ over a CJ as the wider springs do. Take them off.....you'll live.

West747--As a person who has enjoyed the experience of shearing off a centering pin and having the axle come loose while on the street, I'd suggest that you correct that problem. If you develope any play at the perch from loose or stretched u-bolts, the sloppy fit will allow the perchs to hammer into the pin and be more likely to shear it in two.
