spool vs mini spool

what is the fifferences between a spool and a mini spool? which is stronger?? for the dana 44

A full spool replaces the whole carrier, whereas a mini spool just replaces the spider gears in the stock carrier. A full spool is stronger.

I've got one of each in my jeep, and wish I would have went with two spools. The mini-spool in front caused some problems with the axleshafts not sliding all the way inboard, nothing a cutoff wheel couldn't fix. Wouldn't have had that problem with a full spool.

Complete Offroad has spools for around $90 or $99, and mini-spools for $60, for the D44.
