Iv installed a new speedometer for my cj7 and it was working fine with the old speedometer cable then it just stopped working. The fuel and temp. gauges work and the e brake light too. I got a new cable and put it in today but there wasnt any change, the speedometer still wouldnt work. Anyone know why this is happening?

I've replaced the cable on my 79 cj-7, and the only thing I can think of is one of two, 1) your speedometer is broken (it's mechanical so not linked to anything electrical) or the connection on the transmission is stripped. Easiest way to check is to disconnect the cable from the transmission and turn the cable by hand to see if your speedometer turns, if so then you know where to fix the problem (just can't help you there) If not, then it's time for a new speedometer.
