I want to get snowboard rack just like this jeep that I found on an earlier post:
What I was wondering is what hardware do i need, and how does it attach to your top?

thanks nick!

I dont want a Congo Cage Rack, looking for something that attaches to directly to the Hard Top like in the pic.

i'm sure either yakima or thule would make a model that would fit right onto your hard top. their systems are designed where you buy the main rails with whatever type of mounts your vehicle needs, and then just put whatever type of rack you need onto those rails (bike, ski, canoe, etc.). i have a yakima system on my XJ and have mounts for both mtn. bikes and skis currently. just check out www.yakima.com (or www.thule.com).

Dude, You like my rack!!

Wanna know what it is, I will tell but promise not to kill me!

That is called the "mini roof system" From thule I don't recall the part number but is designed for 95+ honda civics. I have only one holder on there (Well two, only on one side) they are from baracraft, I can hold two snow boards and two pairs of ski's. ( I ride a K2 Double wide which is a wide board) I am so flattered you used my pic!!!!!!

That does not appear to be it. The kit I have is for a 2 door civic. I am going to see if I can find some better pics of it!

I will go to my local shop today and get a part number for you.

I found this, and it is an old picture.

If you look, you will see that the foward bar and the rear bar are connected with two perpendicular bars. These two perpendicular bars have a adjustable rain rail mount that holds the rear rack down. You can kinda see it at the rear most part of the rail channel.

After looking around for used car racks, and with the help of the folks at Sports Rack, I came to the conclution that the way to go is to get the factory rails off an explorer or expedition and cut them a tad to fit the length of the hard top. I also got some towers and crossbars of ebay that will fit the rails, and my buddy gave me his old snowboard clips, so now im set. All I need now is some SNOW! Tahoe is only an hour and a half away, the ski places are just starting to open. Hope we get some enough snow for some bomb riding this winter.
