Running 33' s with a dana 35

The Dana 35 is just junk. Do not waste any money on it.

The D35 is not "junk"; true, it's not the strongest axle out there, but it gets a worse rep than it deserves. What IS true is that you will find someone who has wheeled the D35 on 35's and lockers with no problems for over 10 years, and someone runing 31's, no locker, and breaking shafts the first time out; but a lot has to do on the type of wheeling you do and how aggressive you are with the skinny pedal.

With 33's and LSD, as long as you watch the skinny pedal, you should be fine, IMHO.

In my case, i have chromo shafts (31 spline), but I also run an ARB locker, and so far, it has held up nicely. And I DO wheel mine... In my case, though, the terrain is mud, not rocks, so there is less risk.

Now, where I to do the Jeep all over, i would probably change both axles to D44's, but so far, my D35 has done what it was supposed to do. The day it breaks, a D44 will go in. but until then, it's staying under the Jeep!
