rancho suspension

I just became the proud owner of a 1980 CJ 7. I bought it in FL with a bad frame and am just about done switching it out with a nice frame. When I removed the front shocks I noticed the front leaf springs had more travel than the shocks allow for. The Jeep has the 2.5" lift kit from Rancho on it and I was wondering if anyone out ther has installed one of these and if they ran into anything like this. Any info is greatly appreciated. Also if anyone knows first hand what the difference is between the 76-79 frames and the 80 and up, please let me know. Thanks[addsig]

I have a 93 YJ with a 2.5" lift. The shocks they recommended for the lift were also too short to get full travel of the suspension. I tried 4 inch lift shocks and they worked fine. They don't bottom out...I can still stuff the tires right up into the wheel wells without any problems and I now get full travel of the suspension with room to spare on the shocks. I don't know why they didn't just recommend 4 inch lift shocks to begin with.[addsig]
