Protecting my sub

I am getting ready for summer, and I want to install a sub into the trunk of my jeep TJ. However I'm worried about someone stealing it when I'm on the beach or working. So does anyone have any ways i can be sure it wont and can't be taken out?

Welcome to Jeepz. Look up Terry Mason's article on his subwoofer setup under the back seat.. Search box is on the upper right hand.

ok cool thanks man i'll try that but im a little cautious about tearing up my rear seat. But i may just do that, any other idea if i wanna keep it in the trunk.

your only other option would be to build something like this

or buy it. This way your covering the trunk but you lose any storage.

Here's my setup.

Nothing fancy. As far as antitheft goes it relies on the fact that the box is wedged between the tailgate and the back seat. Can't pull the subs out without lowering the seat and can't lower the seat without moving the box. Just make sure your tailgate is always locked. I went another step farther and designed my spare tire carrier so the tailgate can't open without swinging out the carrier and the carrier is held shut with a locking lug nut. I have a hardtop now so I don't worry about it anymore but when I had my softtop down it folded right on top of the box so you couldn't see it just walking by.
