Hi
I have a 2006 Jeep unlimited... it was an off lease steal..... I love it
was warming it up on a cold morning.... all of a sudden it started squealing.
I have replaced the tension pulley and idler pulley the squealing is still there.
The squealing comes and goes even during acceleration and just being at a stop.... does anyone have any ideas?
:(
Thank you
Joan

When the Squeeling occurs, can you isolate on which pulley the squeel is coming from?. If not, remove the Belt and spin the pulleys by hand and see if any of them feels like it's binding.

I am pretty sure the noise is from the idler pulley but behind the pulley
like the item the allows the pulley to spin
I am very frustrated. brought it to a mechanic and thought I was crazy
At the time he looked at it the noise had stopped......

If after replacing the Tensioner and idler pulley and Serpentine belt, the Squeel still exist, the most common issue found on a squeeling belt is either a mis-aligned pullley or a partially binding pulley. If it is coming out of the idler pulley area, remove and inspect it for any improper mounting on the bracket or any defects.

Same thing happend to me. It was the electric fan. Made a loud wine every time it came on. Must have had a bad berring.
