well it has the 304 v8 three speed transmission...im looking for what type transmisssiong and transmission, axles..etc

If it is stock, you'll have a Dana 20 transfercase, not quite as low geared as the 300 but every bit as strong. You have a T150 transmission. Both are strong. Good little Jeep.:shades:

hey thanks..what about the axles?

Look under your Jeep in the back, if your differential cover is somewhat flat on both ends with sort of a bulge top & bottom left side, it's a Dana 44:bomb:. It will also have a diff ratio tag on a cover bolt on the left side. (at about 7o'clock)

If the diff cover is somewhat round, it's a Dana 35.

Up front, it will be the same as the first description (44) :bomb:eek:r it will be sort of flat on top and bottom a Dana 30.

If you have a Dana 44 front & rear then your Jeep is the "BOMB":bomb: and congrats to you. The others aren't really bad, it's just that the 44 are more better.

Edit; I'm going off the top of my head, sadletramp's confusing my issues with FACTS.

If your jeep is stock you will have the Dana 30 front axel and the dreaded AMC 20 rear. The AMC 20 comes with two piece axels that allow the hub flange to spin and fail leaving you stranded right where you sit. If the axels have not been changed to one piece units, do it now. Take a look at this:

The Dana 30 front is OK but not the best either. Upgrade it and forget it unless you are going big.

If it's anything like 'Black Betty' turned out to be, after three decades, little was stock.
