Paolo’s 05 TJ Build

Hey how’s it going everyone. I’m new to this forum. My name is Paolo, and I live in Arizona. Picked up this 05 TJ X from my brother in law back in November 2023 for quite a deal. Needed quite a bit of work as you’ll see in the pictures below. The Jeep sat in his yard for a couple years due to needing a heater core and radiator, and a list of other things as well. He didn’t want to deal with it so he decided to sell it and I bought it. Jeep is currently set up with 33’s and a brand new 4” Rough Country lift that he had installed before he parked it. Hope you guys enjoy the build as I fix and make this Jeep my own!

The day I picked it up! My son and daughter were so happy!

First thing that needed to be addressed was replacing the heater core, radiator, hoses, and thermostat. Water pump was replaced a couple years ago before the Jeep sat.

After I installed everything I took it for a victory ride to the river. Cooling system went smooth and it ran like a champ! Now to tackle all the oil leaks, and it’s leaking from everywhere lol. Replacing all the seals, and putting in a new clutch and flywheel. It has been 10+ years since the last clutch was put in.

nice! that looks like a pain to change the heater core. it was so much easier on my old yj and cjs.

jeep looks great though and hte kids will love it

Wow! Your Jeep is gaining a new life. A Jeep is a great vehicle for teaching the kids to drive as soon as they can push in the clutch...your son is not too far off!!

Thanks for posting the pictures.

Got all the seals replaced, replaced the clutch and flywheel, replaced the 02 sensors, and got the a/c working. I would’ve done it myself but I have a bad back. Changed a few things like the shift knob, bought a new top for it, a few little miscellaneous things, and slapped on some new wheels!

Well body work and paint is done on the rear passenger quarter! Everything came in except for the winch. I installed the headlights, tail lights, new bumpers, rocker guards, tire carrier, license plate relocation and exhaust! Winch should be in next week! I even had the old mounting holes for the license plate filled in and painted as well to make it look clean.

Don’t know why these pictures never go in the order that I put it. But here’s some more. I even painted the skid plate for the fuel tank after I installed the rear bumper.

the bumpers you bought are my favorite style of aftermarket bumper, the low approach angle bumpers that are solid. i put those on all my wranglers and cherokees because they are functional and look great.

the back end looks like new, too.
