Oil Leak ? Low Oil PRessure

I noticed a couple of days ago that the oil pressure in my 95 YJ had gone from completely normal to almost nothing at all. My initial thoughts were that the sensor had gone bad, and that I would simply have to replace it, no big deal, right?

This morning I was leaving work, and I noticed what looked like a small oil pool under my Jeep. I drove home, not thinking much about it. When I exited the Jeep at home, I looked at the ground under the engine area, and saw that there was indeed oil leaking from somewhere under my hood.

Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the oil pressure sensor was sticking out, leaving a fairly large opening around it. This seemed to be where the oil was leaking from. I pushed it back in, and drove to the store to pick up some more engine oil. I still had quite a bit left, but wanted to top it up.

I had some oil pressure for the drive to the store, but no where near what it should have been at. The engine is still leaking oil.

My question for you guys:

What is likely my best course of action for repairing this? Can I get a new rubber boot to fit around the sensor and plug into my engine, or am I forced to replace the whole sensor itself?
What could have caused this? Is it possible that the sensor becoming loose like that was a result of something else gone wrong with my engine?

Thanks folks...

Thats what oil sensors do when they fail. Replacing the boot (not possible)is only a bandaid. Replace the whole sensor, you will have no more leak and your pressure should be back to normal.

Don't sweat it, this one is easy.
