Brand New and need help. Just got 89 wrangler and i believe it is stock height. What size tires are the biggest i can put on with out lifting it? Thanks!!!

Plan on doing anything other than street driving?

30x9.5-15.... stock wheels and they rub on the springs @ full lock, after market wheels and they rub on the stock flares....

You can stuff 31s under it with some rubbing. I would say only go as high as 30s on the stock suspension. I had 30s on my stock YJ when I got it and turning was fine but if I put some weight in the back tires would eat up the flares.

Can't i trim up the flares And ad a little clearance? I just hurculined it finished it today. And ordered new seats so now I'm broke lol so it will be awile till i can lift it

You could trim. If you put 31s under it you'll have problems with turning as well as some flex rubbing. Could toss in a cheap body lift and wheel spacers to push the 31s out a bit. Should just ride stock and save up some loot get a nice 2.5" lift with 31s.

Okay thanks a bunch just trying to get it looking good as i can on a limited budget right now

American Racing 767 black spokes are about as cheap an aftermarket wheel as you will find, 15x7 or 15x8 with 3.75" backspace will help fit larger tires without rubbing much or at all. I had a set on a van I used to own.

Take an inch off the flares at the molded edge. 4" cutoff wheel on an angle grinder makes short work of it.

You can also install TJ fender flares, usually available for around $50 a set used. They'll allow easy fitment of 31" tires.

So i cut off an inch of flares and 31s will fit for sure? Also Would like Widest tires Possible. And its very muddy where i duck hunt. So any idea on full size of tires i Should get? Sorry I'm clueless lol

the wife's old wrangler had 30s on it and it never rubbed. mine either right now

Just How much Taller and wider are these 30 or 31inch tires than the 235 75 15s that are on it now? And will i be able to tell any difference in the ride on dry roads Or the mud When i go duck Hunting? Sorry for my ignorance but like I said its my first keep and I'm totally clueless! Thanks For the help guys

235's are roughly 28" tall. I ran 30's for yrs and loved it, tried a set of 31's and took them off in less than a week they rubbed so bad.

Okay. Thanks a bunch!!! 30s it is then. How Wide can i Go?

30's generally only come in a 9.5" width. I think if you dig around you might find some wider ones but I wouldn't bother.

I ran 31's on stock (tired) suspension, and I would rub on the street if anyone else got in the Jeep (or at the slightest bump) - By the way, mine had American Racing Outlaws II when I got her. Like stated before, if you trim, they will fit without rubbing. Still, I would probably go with a half or 1" BL just to be sure it will not rub offroad...
