New Guy with a Turbo TJ, Needing advice

Hi, I'm pedro I'm new to these forums and own a 1997 wrangler TJ, I recently installed a t3/t4 turbo on it, it is a budget build. I keep it at home (200 miles away from where I attend college) and I travel home and work on it on the weekends.

It is all bolted up and connected now and running but am having a few problems hopefully you guys could help me, I am not new to turbo cars I have had to previos ones (1993 3000gt Twin Turbo, and a VW 1.8Turbo which both I could connect a laptop and tune) but I am new to jeeps and tuning their PCMs

The first problem I am encountering is when i hit full boost which is 6 psi, the jeep begins to speed up as it spools up the turbo but once boost is hit and bogs down and doesnt speed up at all? I am thinking this is timing related probably due to the timing being to advanced??? I have heard the way of adjusting timing is through the Crankshaft position sensor could anyone give me some more information on this?

Also I have a set of ford racing 30lb injectors I am going to install this weekend to see if they help any, would the MAP adjuster be necessary to make the jeep work with these injectors at WOT?? I read in a jeep article they used one and it came in no use due to the OBD2 system not needing it ???

I will post pics of my setup this weekend when I go home to install the injectors, any and all help is appreciated thanks

What motor is this on? sen/read of both 4.0 and 2.5/2.4's with turbos?

you should adjust your MAP sensor... sounds like it is a lean fuel issue.

also, what are you using for a charge cooler? air to air?

can you post a pic of the exhaust manifold as well?

Are you using a fuel management computer? From what I have read with turboed YJ's, the PSC1 works great. I know the TJ is a bit different (need to consider no return line from the rail to the tank and all), and the 4-Banger is also quite different from the I6, but just thought I'd let you know what others have done...

Yea Right now im not running any fuel management computer since i was hoping on getting some feedback I think I will try the MAP Adjuster to see how that works out but I suck at soldering so hopefully it comes out okay, and there is no intercooler on it right now later one I plan on getting a sidemount from an eclipse gs-t, Does anyone sell pre made MAP Adjusters I jsut dont see it turning out well with me making it

for the exhast manifold I used the OEM one and idk how well you know the stock piping but originally ouf of the manifold the exahust piping runs around the front of the oil pan then out the back what I did was cut the pipe right were it goes in front of the oil pan and route it up by where the stock airbox and welded a t3 flange and bolted it on there andd then just had a custom downpipe fabbed up and shot out the back,

and yes no problem I go back home tomorrow so I can take pics then.

Turbo City has a modified map sensor. also a hot charge might be a issue. if the air is too hot, your gonna have detonation issues, especially under a lean condition
