New body

When i can no longer weld on it and it would be a STEEL replacement or custom built..

I would probably replace the Jeep and not the body... BUT, if I were to replace the body, it would be either steel or aluminum.

I have a 1978 CJ-7, with a 401, t-18, dana 300, 2.5" rancho lift, dana 44's and 33" tires. A buddy owned it before me and done some work on it. It need's a new top and definetly some body work. I've got a good hood and some fender's but I just don't know if it's worth trying to fix the tub. I use everything that I own for it's intended purpose and that's why I don't want to drop 3k-4k on a tub.

You get a new tub when it looks about HALF as bad as this  . . . . I didn't have the money to do it all at once so I nickle it here and dime it there, chop here and weld there.

What isn't rusted or bent all up is bondo'd like all get out.

Actually the floor was redone about 20 years ago and is in better shape than the tub!

There ya go, Pull the tub, build a rotissery from two engine stands and buy a fender this payday (couple hundred), a tailgate next payday. Next thing you know you'l have a nice little tub to bolt back on your chassis.
