Need quick advice for Lift-Tires

extremeYJ-- I'm willing to bet that your Jeep is more capable with a 3"BL, shackles, and 33s than it was when it was factory height and rolling on car tires. We gotta do what we gotta do. That BL didn't raise the chassis, but the extra tire did. You have the same ground clearance at your axle diffs and body as a guy with a 3.5" suspension and 33s and your factory springs flex and ride better than half of the cheap lifts on the market. A suspension lift would have been better, but I don't think you have hurt yourself any by going the route that you did.

"Extreme" is like beauty, it's all in the eye of the beholder. Bungee jumping might seem like an extreme sport to an accountant, but rather boring to a skydive instructor.

you know what...your right hi_c - a suspension lift would be better, but im a high school student on a very strict budget and my parents dont throw money at me so i have to go with what i can afford and i havent seen any suspension lifts that are complete for under $400, so why dont you direct me to one. and i can do everything that i could if i had a 4" suspension lift and my Jeep may not be extreme, neither is yours. -its not the Jeep, its the driver.

Well said extremeYJ. I have also never seen a complete, good quality suspension lift for $350. Plus, if you ever do get a suspension lift, you already have new shackles and that extra 3" with the body lift.

hi-c, i'm sorry, but it is pretty pathetic that you have to criticize other Jeep owners like that. Grow the f*** up

A 4" suspension lift for under $400 = www.hellcreeksuspensions.com It comes with EVERYTHING you need including the pitman arm, shocks, t-case drop, bump stop extenders, brake line relocators, u-bolts, axle shims, trac-bar relocators, and of course the lift springs. All for $389. That's where I got mine. Installed with some friends in 4 hours.

I've had this kit installed for almost 2 months, and it's sweet. I understand that you aren't loaded with $. Me neither. That's why this kit rocks. PM me if you want to know more about it.

hi-c, why the f*** do you even have a Jeep. Jeep owners are like a family to each other. People like you should be driving little rice burners, not Jeeps. And no I will not suck your balls because I am not gay. Plus, I never said a kit like that does not exist, I only said I have not seen one for under $350. Once you add on the shipping and handling, that kit goes up well over $400.

Size of nut on pinion yoke?

HiC- you've had alot of good posts on Jeepz. These ain't them. Leave the name calling and profanity off of here. You can delete them and I hope you will. That's not how it's done on Jeepz and I thought you would know that. If you didn't, you do now, so please remove it so we can move on. Not trying to bust your chops,

Very well put TwistedCopper.I dont understand how these posts asking a question can turn into a fight........ :?
88wrangles you need to watch it.We dont use words like that around here.Weve got some younge people on here including me that dont want to hear your bad language.
hi_c,that was uncalled for on your part,be the bigger man and step up.Two wrongs dont make a right. The one who finishes the fight always ends up to be the one in trouble.

Here, here to the above posts by Twisted and Sully, from the originator of the post. If you guys really feel the need to keep up the argument and name calling use private messages instead.

Cheers all.

Extreme, I have to disagree with you. I have to be frank, you spent $350 on a 4" lift and really didn't gain any ground clearance. Sure, you can fit 33's now, but you're very limited. There are many 3" - 4" suspension lift kits out there that include shocks, pitman arm, t-case drop, for under $400. The install is relatively easy (depending on the condition of your Jeep) and can be completed in a day.

Let me just say in my defense, that the quoted above is my original "offending" post. I'm not comin down on extreme, I was just pointing out that for the same $ he could've had a suspension lift. I know what's done is done, and each person's Jeep is unique to them. It's when 88 stepped in that it pissed me off.

So I apologize to Extreme if it was taken the wrong way. I will delete my posts, but 88 knows.

Sorry Extreme, I was just trying pointing out this great 4" suspension kit that I installed for $389 and netted the same amount of lift. I know you love your Jeep the same way I love mine.

Only in a Jeep

All is well that ends well. You folks know now that if you need to argue a point, do it constructively. My Dad always tells me to never argue with an idiot, you might confuse others watching! That's not to say anybody here is an idiot, but when we start name calling and using foul language it's easy to look like one. It's alot easier to win over someones point of view or opinion if you stick to making valid points instead of diverting their attention with insults.

I would just like to appologize to anyone who was offended by the posts that were made. I just get mad pretty easily when others start saying stuff like that. I realize I should have just let him keep calling me names (for whatever reason he was) and have let him think that he was correct about what he had posted. Once again, I am sorry.
