mounting kc lights?

what do ya'll think about mounting a 5x7" rectangular light on top of each fender, next to the hood latches? I want to have rectangular lights because I have a YJ. Is this a resonable position? [addsig]

There is no reason why you cant mount them there. As not as you dont mind drilling through your body. Make sure you mount them solid though. You are going to be dealing with alot of drag on them. Just thing about how thick your body panels are.[addsig]

If I were to do this I would use a large backing plate of some sort to spread out the stress of the vibration and wind resistance. I still like mine down low on the front bumper. Well protected there set back behind the bumper. The higher mounted lights around here where the trails are wooded seem to wind up bust off. If I were a desert jeeper I would mopunt ehem high on the windshield. To each his own. Good Luck Tug[addsig]

when you drill... make sure you cover the hole inside and out with some sort of rustoleum or body coating... then I would say to get some large body washers to distribute the stress[addsig]

I think the first time you hit 80mph your Fenders are going to fold up and back on you. May actually be cool though. Kind of like a dog folding his ears back just to get that little extra speed. :-D [addsig]

It will work just put some tape down and mark your
holes with a Tap and drill so it won't walk on you....I
have seen a couple of Jeeps like that...looks good...
only thing is watch out for brush grabbing them :-D [addsig]
