mechanical or stock electric fuel pump

Hi, what should I do. When I go to my carb 350, I was wondering if I can somehow use my stock fuel pump (40 psi) and regulate it down to carb (7 psi). What is the part number if you have one? I need a return line though don't I because the stock fuel pump has that line that goes back to it. I want to use the stock fuel pump because it is still new (1 yr old) and I want the capability of having the fuel gauge.

yea your going to have to make a return line you can run a return hose along the inside of the frame all the way to the back and T it into the vent hose for your gas tank. iv heard of that being done, i decided not to put a 350 into my jeep anymore becouse of all that extra stuff that im going to have to do and then still try to pass NYC emissions laws, im thinkin of going with a jeep V8

My tank already has a return line going to it. My question is, where can I get a pressure regulator that will take my 40 psi and set it to 7 psi on one outlet and on another outlet have my return line for the excess psi?

Or can I get a mechanical pump and still use the gauge read out on my old pump? Is there a way to use only the gauge read out and not have fuel being pumped out?

3 reasons: money, i dont rock climb or climb hills so incline isn't a case, and I am sick of dealing with computers!
