MC2100 changeover

So, when I get rid of OE carb, and install a motorcraft, can I get rid of the computer and it's wiring all together?

The computer runs the ignition and alternator too, if it's a SMEC (SMEC stood for "single module engine control"). Chrysler used SMECs from at least 1981 until they went to injection so you might have one. If it's the 258 I would think you could upgrade to Motorcraft electronic ignition and throw a GM integrated alternator in there (like a late 70's CJ). Best of luck - John

Ok. Sounds like I'll need to keep the computer. Probably won't change alternators, but the TFI upgrade is comming soon too.

Jeep wasn't Chrysler until 86 or 87. You can get rid of a lot of the hoses and mess with the nutter bypass. The "Nutter" Bypass
