mall parking

I love the parking at the mall now. They put in all these parking places that are for these little cars but they cannot legally make me move.

Unfortunately, my waterpump is leaking now so after that pic I had to go get the pt cruiser and park in those types of spots in all the other stores. The pt actually gets good gas mileage so no one ever complains

"Low" is relative, right? The Jeep is probably lower in emissions than a Hummer, right?

Same goes for the term "Compact Vehicles" on parking spots. I usually don't have any trouble compacting my Suburban into one of those narrow spots.;)

Ha ha ha, compacting it in

Mine does get low emissions compared to lots of cars and trucks. For as little miles as its got on it, its put out way less exhaust then tons of newer vehicles

And compact, it is compact too, I never thought about that.

yup, low emissions, pregnant women, and handicrappers get the first 6 or so in each row.

So if there was a parking spot s
Designated for a returning combat veteran, would you still park there? I get disturbed when people can't follow rules. I personally don't mind parking in the outskirts of the mall. I little extra walking can't hurt. Remember we are all jeepers, we wave to other jeepers, we help out other off roaders when they get stuck. We should be an example to other people, not some jerk parking where ever they want. Next thing you know you will parking in an "

I personally don't think anyone should recieve preferential treatment.
Especially someone who drives a car with low emissions.
Whats next?
Parking in relationship to financial status, Race, Gender, Sexual orientation?
I just think it's gotten out of hand.

I see no problem with the mall putting in spots for pregnant mothers, electric vehicles, etc. It's private property, and if the mall thinks that will generate goodwill, more sales, or customer loyalty then I say go for it.

As to parking my Jeep there, I think that would only produce two things
1. Others would probably get a negative opinion of Jeep owners
2. The mall will eventually have you towed.

i am a veteran and i don't get special parking. i don't think some one who falls for buying a "low emission vehicle" should either. i am being an example of what we should all be, someone standing up for our right for fair and equal treatment in everything.

i don't want to be treated differently because i have a carb'd jeep. just like i hated being told i couldn't get a free ride to college because i am white. or how there is no white tv or anything like that. do you know what would happen if someone started a WTV? there would be a riot and a burning of some buildings. just like all black colleges, what happened when there were all white colleges? everyone fought it and made them open to all who wished to go, as it should be.

i had to pay for my wife's college because she married a white guy, even though she is hispanic. i don't get anything because i am white and i think thats not right, i think we should all have to earn our own way and pay for our own crap, not ride of someone's great grandparents stuff they had to go through. this isn't the days of slavery and all that stuff, as a nation we are supposedly moved past that but in reality all that has happened is its changed from one people to another.

are you a white guy? ever work in a non white section of hte usa? ever get told your not allowed to come in and do your job because you are white? ever get shot at because white people aren't allowed there? its not the perfect usa you might believe where everyone is treated equal and we all hold hands and sing, we still need to fight for whats right and this is just a little bit of not right being forced on people and they don;t even know it

i just noticed you are from LA. i know you deal with racism there, i grew up in riverside. i got shot at a fair number of times as a kid because i was white and in the wrong neighborhood

I'm a veteran too brother. USMC 2nd Small Craft Co. I don't pull the race card. I did not get a free ride to college. And im hispanic. I broke my femur as I got out the corps and was denied disability benefits. I still work 40 plus hours a week serving the people of south central LA. I've seen what you're tailing about.
I was just saying parking in spots like that gives the average joe/Jane a bad impression of us, Jeeperz.

speaking from a strictly utilitarian perspective, if anyone should be driving up and down looking for good parking spaces, it's the low emissions vehicles. to give them easy parking and make the jeep guy do all the parking lot crawling, that's just killing our planet.

I never park in pregnant or handy cap spots but as soon as I see the hybrid or electric spot I pull right in I figure if they get special parking spots becuase of the car they drive I should get a special spot becuase I drive a wrangler the handy cap and pregnant people should get close spots becuase they have a good reason.

I think Affirmative Action is just a pretty way to say racism. A black friend of mine once called it "reverse racism" and I said no, racism is racism no matter how you look at it. We're all equal in my eyes. I understand the whole world doesn't see it that way, though. I don't like Jeepism, either. We're all Jeepers no matter what our Jeeps look like. :-)
