my buddy has a camaro (the one ive been thinkin' bout trading with) and has a set of headers that he has has for a long time, now so today we decided to put the on. welll.. we (I really) took off the whole exhaust syster, the starter, plugs, wires, and loosened the PS pumb, to get the old manifolds off... we i get almost done and go to attach the damn headers, and the F@WKIN things arent the right ones!!! one of the holes didnt line up correctly, i was pissed... i just put everything back on, that i could, but in the process of removing it, i destroyed to whole tailpipe, so it hasnt been replaced yet.... it just has manifolds at the current time... its slightly loud....

I hate that! The same thing happened when we were doing the sye. Only we forgot to put the oil pump(really just a tube with a round thing that sucked oil).We put the whole tcase back together and we had left over parts. This part was suposed to be on the inside and we had to take it all apart again. Good luck with your headers.

it happens way more often than you may think

ooh, i know how often it happens, i work at a parts store, so i see how often stuff is wrong (even i can mess up) atleast i didnt sell him them, he has had them for two years, and that was before i started my currant job

Traden your Jeep for a fast car seems to carry some bad Karma there my right winged friend. Better get the Jeep Jinks off your back and tell the ol gal your going ot keep her before all sorts of bad comes from this scary idea! hehhehe tug

Let me guess, it is a 305 motor. And he has the HO motor and the headers are for the standar Z code 305??

Thats what happened to us!

well.... it was a 305 from the factory....
but it now has a 350... the headers were supposed to be for a 350 though?

thats it... from a 350 what? they didn't put a 350 in the 3rd gen camaro until later in the 80s... you might have gotten headers from the wrong head design

ok, so the head design may be different... and now... when the headers were ordered... was it specified what year that crate motor was manufactured? or were they ordered for the stock motor of that camaro
