OK, so I'm planning my yearly pilgrimage to Colorado and I want to spend allot of time in the Dolores, Rico, Telluride, Ophir, area and explore.
Have any of you ran the trails around there?

I've done some near Telluride (most of them in my mountain bike days - Wait, I still cross train with one).

You've done Ophir pass haven't you?

If Ophir is the pass you take from the Telluride side back to 550, then no, I don't think I have yet. I have done Imogene pass though.

A lot of people do Black Bear pass into Telluride then take Ophir pass as a way back. A large portion of Ophir Pass is a shelf road with just the right amount of the "Pucker Factor" to it.

I remember going into Telluride one year around Labor Day. I was walking down the street when I spotted two large gentlemen is front of me. They were taking up the entire sidewalk. As I went around them grumbling, I noticed that one was Michael Moore and the other was Roger Ebert. Interesting what you se some times...

I'll do some research and find out what else is available in the Delores area for Jeeping. Delores is also a relaxing area for fishing. A lot of nice streams and rivers in the area.

The Gunnison and Crested Butte areas are great to visit, too! Great rides like the Devil's Punchbowl and several others!

Interesting about Telluride, a buddy just went there and said you have to have a $30 parking permit just to park anywhere near downtown now
