Liftgate glass install help!

Ok, here's the deal. I buy the fiberglass liftgate for my 79 cj-7 and the innerglass seal from JCWhitless, uh Whitney. I take an attempt to install myself and wind up ruining the seal since I thought it was too big to work, so I cut it to fit. So I order another seal, and this time I take it into a professional (autolite glass) installer to have them do it. They told me the same thing, seal's too big, we're going to have to cut it to make it fit. So I said go ahead as long as it get's done. Then they come back and say the seal doesn't seem to fit the liftgate. Something about the lip not being big enough to hold the glass in. So I call JCWhitney, and of course they are no help, "It should fit, that's what my computer says"!!! Anyone have any experience with this that can help me out?? With all this snow I need to get this done so I don't gas myself playing in the snow with my jeep!

The folks at autolite still are working on my liftgate glass install. Looks like the fiberglass replacement is too small for the original glass. Those folks at JC Whiteney still have no clue! Take their computers away and I bet they wouldn't be able to figure out how to put gas in their cars!
