Lift for 06 Unlimited Wrangler

What is the best method for lifting my 06 unlimited? I don't want to mess with the factory warranties if at all possible. Also, what is the suggested lift height, 3" 2" etc. Can the lift be done by a beginner or do you need a lot of exp to do it also? thanks

any mods to the suspension will void the warranty on the suspension. It kind os doesnt matter if you replace the whole suspension anyway...

As for suggestions, the possibilities are too broad to make one. What are you going to use it for? What size tires do you plan on running? What do you want to spend?

I really just want a small lift that will make my jeep have the cooler look. I want somthing that will also help out when wheeling, I am not rock crawling or anything like that, I like mudding (when it rains here, never) and climbling. I just think maybe a 1" or 2" lift would give it a nicer look and maybe go to 33" wheels, I have 30s now.

If you don't want to void you're warranty, have the dealership install it. They sell vehicles with lifts installed all the time.

I was told by a dealer in Timonium, MD that they (the dealer) would warranty their work, and the manufacturorer would warranty the suspension, but any associated parts would no longer carry a Jeep warranty.

Check with them first.

A simple 2" budget boost type lift and 32's might be a good start.

If you're talking about the same dealer I'm thinking of (I'm thinking the name is Don White...the one on York Road up towards Hunt Valley), when I was looking at Jeeps I test drove one there but didnt buy it because the salesman was being way too pushy. For the record, I ended up buying mine up the road in York, PA at Jack Giambalvo, my salesman was Keith and he was awesome, just answered my questions and never once pushed me to buy the Jeep; he just gave me the numbers and let me make up my own mind. Anyway, the dealership on York road had (and may still have) an '06 Wrangler X that they (the dealership) had installed some sort of 3-4" lift on, and it CLEARLY stated on the window sticker that there was absolutely NO WARRANTY on the suspension on that particular Jeep.

yeah that's the one - yellow X pkg, right?

I wouldn't be too afraid of the warranty thing. The main thing is the drivetrain and electrical is still covered.
