I just bought a 1992 laraedo. It is a 4 door, 5 speed. It is options really weird, with leather power seats but nothing power. Has anyone ever heard of options like that? Also, It has a maint rqrd light on, upon calling the local jeep dealer, I was told "bring in, we need a tech to look at it." Is there a easy way to shut it off? I got it with 121,000 miles for $2300 out the door. Anyone know of a power lock kit the install easily? Finally it has the manual mirrors with the adjusters on the inside, but they do not seem to work, especially the dr. side. Any fixes for that, or should I spring for new mirrors?

Thanks a lot.

p.s. sorry for spelling[addsig]

that maint req light was recalled. there is a second odometer stuck under the dashboard that triggers that light to go on every 50k miles. its a dark-tinted box about 4x4x2" that has a plugger in it... i'd just unplug the prick. sounds like you got a great deal on that jeep tho... however, its weird that its a laredo but has no power options. i've been under the assumption (all the laredo's i've seen have had power) that all laredos had power windows and locks.

Thanks all try that, from all my Jeep friends i've been talkin to out here, they think its really weird also. They also said that it's pretty rare to see a 4 dr. 5speed. Seems like almost every 5 speed is a 2dr. I'll try that on the light. Does anyone know what service is actually required at 100,000 miles, or 121,000 which is what is on it now.

Thanks[addsig]

i have the same car but with all power and automatic, the maintance light that is on left side about 1/3 way down is for the oxyen sensor. we changed it at 100,000 as required but the light must be shut off manually. the dealership said they would charge 75.00 to do that so it has been on ever since. i am told there is a kit for turning off these lights on your own if you are handy.[addsig]

So, the only reason that the light is on, is because the oxgen sensor needs to be replaced...that seems like nothing at all......i was thinking it was something big like a whole tune up or something. As for the light, I'm so tall that the light is blocked by the steering wheel.

thanks a lot[addsig]
