I ordered this kit to begin with http://www.speedomotive.com/jeep_4.htm
but I got 30 over pistons and rings
I also have the injectors coming from Jakes http://www.jakesracingengines.com/jeep page 2.htm
As for the cam and lifters I sell crane so I have to order those when I am ready. I figure that if I am going to do this I am going to make it nasty. I bought another cherokee to drive while my truck is out of commision. My block on my 2000 TJ is in good shape so I may as well use that one. Estimated HP in this configuration 269 hp and 339 ft/lbs of torque. We will see what happens.
you want pistons deisigned for a 4.0 block... but tell them if you want a low or high compression ratio, it all makes a difference in what kind of pistons you get
I own eastcoastoffroad.com, One of the products that I sell is crane cams. I ordered the convensional piston piston instead of the high compression because I fear problems with detonation getting the compression to high.
IN a lot of the magazines when someone talks about their stroker engine they mention Hesco engine parts. I have looked at their website and they have a lot of 6 cyl stroker parts and assemblies.
I have used Clifford research 6 cyl intakes and exhaust.
if you go comp, you will need a specialty grind, and that will be overpriced... go crane... they have a cam for our application... i emailed comp last year, and the cam alone was $230
dammm.. i thought comp had a cam for the jeep 4.0 but if they dont have a cam and i need a speciality grind cam ill stay with crane, thanks for letting me know snitty,
Right now wee do not have a catalog but if there is anything that you need please let me know. You can email me or you call me at 315-697-6211. We can get you just about anything that you are looking for and compete nationaly.
As for the cam, stick with crane they actually have a cam that is built for this application and I have not needed to shim the rockers on another cam before and I have never read anywhere about that being needed.
