Who has a 350 in there jeep yj?

I put a 350 in my '88 YJ back in the day. No longer own that Jeep, currently went the other direction and run a 2.5L YJ

Did you have any problems swapping it over? Cause I plan on changing my 2.5L to the 350 but I wanna know how hard it will be to do

Wasn't too bad, I went from a carb'd 4.2L to a carb'd 350 so I didn't have to worry about too much wiring or ECM programming. Cutting the motor mount perches from the frame was the point of no return. Took a lot of care making sure the engine was in the correct location.
I had the stock radiator built to dual-core and the lower neck moved to the opposite side to match the 350 water pump.
I used the stock Peugeot transmission with an adapter bellhousing from AA.
I plan on replacing the 2.5L in my current '95 YJ with a Vortec 4.3L. Nice power from a lighter more compact package.

Yea I thought about using the carbureted 4.3 and just buying the adapter for my trans but I wasn't sure which would be better power wise. I know if you get a good 4.3 and build it right they can be a good reliable motor and fast also but you can't go wrong buying a 350 also.
What year is your Jeep? depending on the state, make sure you perform a legal swap. In my state, it is illegal to put an older motor into a newer chassis (ex. 95 jeep with a 92 TBI GM 350.)
I will echo the 4.3, great motor and easy swap, but a v8 is really no more work. I would highly recommend EFI over carb. Performing the swap is so much easier now than it has ever been with the availability of stand along harnesses. My next suggestion would be to skip the 350 and go with a 5.3 motor. Currently way more aftermarket support for these motors, they are extremely reliable. lighter, make more power, and are actually cheaper.
Be aware, for what ever reason, every Tom Dick and Jane thinks that the 350 they are selling is a LT1 or LT-1 motors (which are very different motors) when in fact, 99% of them are not. Just because it is a 350 does not mean it is a LT1. The LT-1 was only made for 2 years in the early 70's and the LT1 was only made from 92-97.

I have the 1995 yj. And thanks for the advice never thought about the 5.3 and they are very good motors.
