I am sick and tired of those stupid a** lowriders and imports (rice burners) running around town thinking they are hot s***! They are stupid looking and look like crap........agree? Any one of our jeeps all the way down to stock can drive right on top of them!

I am back on Jeepz! (I hope)

I'd like to run over one myself. I can't stand the sound of a ricer, car or motercycle. I was raised on harleys and old pickemup trucks.

I actually think some of them are all right, but for the most part the people with those rides go to far with the wings and body kits. And I hear you on some of them thinking they are all hot sh*t  just because they've put a cycle sounding exhaust on it. In fact a few months ago I was at a stop light and a ricer in a civic next to me was all reving it up and when the light went green I beat his sorry ass down the street. Gotta love the 4.0 :D

Any one heard from Sound_Man lately???

Haha,I just think it's funny to see a ricer go flyin by you at about 20 and he thinks he's doing 100.  That is just to funny.

if it is 2 wheel drive, and has less than 6" of ground clearance... it better be a V8 (with the exception of the GN or the TTA)... and if it only has 2 wheels.... it better be a Harley

im probably gonna get yelled at for this but... a lot of the crew i roll with are the J-pone racer kids. Although those cars are not exactly my style, i have to respect the blood sweat and tears that they put into their rides, as do we. You should not judge someone but what they drive but by who they are. Just becasue someone drives an import, does not mean they are not a awsome person. Not one import lover i know goes around s*** talking jeeps but almost every jeeper i know has at least one comment every time a louder then stock import passes. if you dont like the import sound, then what do you think of my Jeep with no muffler? If you dont like crotch rockets look at the numbers. id pay to see any harley go up against a Yami R1. No contest there.

I saw the worst thing of all last weekend...it's a complete insult to all jeep owners out there. I was driving along and had to look twice because I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Some home boy wannabe was driving up the street in a brand new Jeep Rubicon, lowered with what looked like gold Daytons on it and low profile tires. If I had my old truck (which was on 39" boggers) I would have been tempted to turn around and run the guy off the road. Who would spend so much money on a vehicle made specifically to go off road and ruin it like that? If the guy had his mind made up on lowering a jeep, you'd think he would be smart enough to just buy a regular TJ instead of a Rubicon...he could have saved himself a whole lot of money.

The only thing that pisses me off about those damn ricers is that 98% of them are all done WRONG. These guys just go buy any damn car, and start the ricer conversion:

Step 1. Put a HUGE friggin Salad Bar on it which most of the time doesnt even match the curves of the car it is on.

Step 2. Install one of those fat chunky exhausts.

Step 3. Put on the huge stickers.

Thats what you see all over the place in here in Jersey and NY. I respect the ricers that actually do the Engine first, and all the other stuff comes later to accompany it. I met this guy in NY that had an eagle talon, it was one of those AWD jobbers... I wasn't really impressed till he popped the hood and then took me for a ride. Holy $#!t it was fast... He told me he just finished the engine and he was going for the ground effects next... the way it SHOULD be done.

But alas, there are too many 84 cavaliers riding around with the salad bars... so we must dream of crushing them.

Re: Low RPMs

Yeah, I've got an accord I use as my daily driver (bone stock, by the way. It wasn't designed as a sports car and if I want I fast car, I'll go buy a 67-69 camaro or an old mustang fastback). I got passed on the interstate the other day by a punk in a civic (just like my wife's) but he had the can on the back. His car was a 4 door civic, bone stock except for the can, and was an automatic to boot (you could hear it struggleing/ downshifting on the hills). If a guy wants to build a racing car, I don't understand why they don't go get an old camaro or mustang and do it right. A civic is NOT a race car unless you are going to put $10k more into it to get it that way. These kids think adding a can and some wheels makes their car something special. Why not go ahead and get a real car that was designed for speed in the first place? As for crotch rockets, at least they are fast as hell. You wouldn't catch me on one, but I will admit they're fast. But these civics...... just plain stupid.

OK POST hi-jACKIng!!! STICK'EM UP!!!!!

Harley?? (I'm NOT a Ricer jap bike poser look at me wheelie POS punk kid or nothing) I am however a MOTORCYCLIST!!
BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT You couldn't get me to own a Harley!! Being a OVER PRICED out dated YUPPIE lawyer look how badass I am on Sunday machine is ridiculous!!!

I have a several Harley friends and most I meet are great people. But I will keep with my Jap bikes forever.(ZRX 1200) They out run, out last, out perform, cost 2/3rds less. Harley only runs, stops and has decent electrical TODAY BECAUSE OF THE JAP BIKE PARTS THEY USE!!! The V-ROD is only ALL THE RAVE BECAUSE PORSCHE BUILT AND DESIGNED THE ENGINE. ADD JAP INJECTION or carbs, BRAKES, FORKS, ELECLTRICAL, IS IT REEEEEEAAAAALLLY A HARLEY ANYMORE!!! THe only reason Harley has made a come back this decade is the WONDERFUL MARKETING PLOY The ad Pro team has done. Convinced millions that wasting 20+K on a bike is worth your reputation and you'll BE COOL!!!!!

Keep your Harley only attitudes "IF" you own a pre eighties Hog. Otherwise look in the mirror and realize you have been snowed my one of the best marketing campaignes EVER!!!!!

I don't know, well I do accually!! I used to think the same as most of yall!

Trust me, I would never own a "low rider honda" but I think it is better to have these kids spending there money on oversized wings than on crack or something. Now matter what the outlet is, motor-sports are motor-sports!

I used to ride a harley of 65 vintage, loved it, but not too economical, had a couple of bikes since then, now I ride a 02 CBR, and I love it. I ride with all types of bikes, crusers, other rockets, harleys and choppers. When we try to segregate ourselves and judge others based on there tastes, we are no better than them!

For example, last tuesday, I was at a local rider hang out and this dude comes up and asks who want to ride, I said I did and the guys like "F#$K no, I don't ride with Jap S&^T" So I replied,"better off, I don't ride with ass holes"

Moral of the story
To be a true car/truck/jeep/motorcycle enthusiest, we must respect everone, if not your just another asshole

*Sigh*

Anybody else have a problem with this being in the "CJ YJ and TJ technical forum"?

P.S. I drive BOTH a "jap import" and a jeep.

I have no problem with the kids fixing up the imports. Not my cup of tea, but whatever. I've built a Camaro and a Olds 442 myself as I prefer the older muscle. But, I'm no kid and I have a little more disposable income than some kid with his first car. They are buying what they can afford. They want a nice car, as new as possible and that's what they want to race and fix up with tincans and salad bar wings. They don't want some old 60's car that looks like something their parents or someone of that generation would drive. They want to be different. More power to them.

I have owned one import, a 83 (i think) Datsun 280ZX. That was a fun car without any mods.

I am not bashing all of them jap imports, the only ones that I can ever have the least bit of respect for are the cars that actuallly do stuff to the engine itself. The majority of them only put the fart can, body kit, heavy wheels, and neon on and think they are the s*** and fast as hell. THose are the ones that I would love to run over. And as for anybody having a problem with my topic being here, get over it! I said it isnt jeep concern, I like the answers I get from you guys at hits forum!

I say do whatever makes you happy. If they want to trick out their Honda, then fine. It's not my cup of tea, but that's fine. When I was younger I had a hot rod. A 1978 Camaro that ran 12.70 in the quarter mile (not a guess, but I ran that at Houston Raceway Park on numerous occasions). My Camaro would take the paint off most of these imports but like I said, if that is what makes them happy, then more power to them. I am sure that they get better gas mileage than my camaro which got about eight miles to the gallon or eight gallons to the mile depending on how I drove it. My wife don't like hot rods and I need a good 4WD vehicle for hunting, so I now have the ultimate off road vehicle.....a Jeep. If they want to fix up the looks and do nothing about the performance, that's fine too. If they are happy with their rig and I am happy with my rig, then everybody is happy. How can I enjoy my life if I am always looking at someone elses life and pointing out the things that I do not like?

Ok all hear it comes from the horse's mouth. I am a 16 yr old. I HATE ricers. Nothing about imports. If you do it to an American made car it's just as bad. In fact my father owned the baddest import next to the NSX. He had a 2001 Honda S200. This car had some BIG balls and only a 4 cyclinder. Great car. We used to love to burn these little ricers. In fact a couple of times we had these guys pull up next to us at a light. They'd start revving their engines like they're all big and bad. Well you should have seen the look on their face when my dad revved his engine. Shut most of them up real fast. If not, then they got used to seeing our tailights real fast.

Now if and only IF it is done right it isn't so bad. But I agree with most. You have to start with the right car first. A Civic was never designed for this. I know a kid who has a Toyota Celica from TRD. For those of you who don't know that's Toyota's performance division. It's real nice, sounds good, and looks good. It was done right. But power must come before looks. And as every jeeper and racer knows, if it ain't useful for performance get rid of it!

And as for motorcycles I prefer the crotch rockets. Nothing against the Harley but I LOVE speed. They sound great and all but I want me a CBR900RR.
Mike

CBR900RR, Wait about three months and you can have a CBR1000rr

Projected Ratings at 153 HP, 385 dry weight, and some of the slickest fairings ever (modled after the 03 600rr ) This bike is "supposed" to be faster and more nimble than the 03 gixxer 1000!!
