Installing complete exhaust

I was just curious about how difficult a job it would be for me to install a new exhaust on my 97 TJ from header to tailpipe. I have a pretty decent set of hand tools, I can get a couple power tools, working on the ground with jacks/jack stands, probably outside, with some experience installing exhaust from the cat back. My biggest concern is getting the header on, and everything that needs to come out of the engine compartment to do so. Also, if anyone knows of any online do-it-yourself or "this is how I did it" guide with pictures, that would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well you are going to have to remove the intake manifold, but it shouldn't be that difficult. Just dive right in, remember where things go (taking a picture helps), and refer to your chilton's manual. Have confidence, figuring out for yourself how to do it hands on is what makes it fun

whenever you go into something not knowing exactly how to do it... have something nearby that you can kick... or to hit with a bat or a large stick

This is some very good advise. It also gives you someone else to blame for all the things that went wrong

RE: What kind of oil in transmission and transfer case?

just get a good manual and takr pics as you remove things. make sure you label all your vacuum lnes and wires etc. im sure a 97 ha alot. As far as the actual header goes its easy. Hardest thing is the hoses and wires and any rusted exhast boltyou gotta break knuckles on.
