I like this gas can

I saw this YJ parked on the street - I really like the look of the gas can.

I wonder though - does he have to pull over for inspection on the freeway? In Virginia I see signs "vehicles with gas cans must be inspected before entering tunnel", etc.

While passing through different states one can expect to find specific rules on auxiliary gas tanks. This fender mount gets some good reviews:

aggreX. That is not a bad can. I saw them before but they don’t hold much. 1.5 gal. $70-$80 for the can and $30+ for the lock. They look easy to steal too.

There are new DOT regs for transporting gas. Old jerry cans do not meet the requirements.

And you could use it for the mower. Just not as sexy. $68

I'm surprised that you don't have to drill holes to mount it, and that it's removable.


JPNinPA, you are correct, that is not a sexy gas can.

I have one of these on each side of my 2002 TJ. They come off easy when needed.

I'm surprised that you don't have to drill holes to mount it, and that it's removable.

The guy that designed it makes it a point to not require drilling whenever possible.
