How Big.... Winch that is ???

Just looking for some ideas on what size winch i sould get. Im guessing the bigger the better but also the more $$$$. I have a 93 yj and never had a winch for any of my jeeps. Not trying to go cheap but dont want to spend alot for more than i need thanks

what do you intend to use it for and how often?

hopefully as little as possible :roll: I just will try to use it when i get hung up insted of tearing up equipment (back included). never really needed one just trying to be the boyscout and ready if i do.

You could probably use a 6000 lb winch for most situations, but stepping up to an 8000 lb model would offer security and might prove to be about the same or even less money because they are much more common. Buy a permanent magnet tiype if yoiu want to save $$$, but a more costly series-wound unit will have a faster line speed, last longer, and hold up better if given a real busy day.
