Hot Enough For Ya?

Record temps everywhere, but the Greenhouse effect's an urban legend, right? LOL. :D

Yup, they don't know what they are talking about. Remember back in the 70's when "they" said that the next ice age is coming. They tried to tell us then that we were screwing up the environment and we were all going to be frozen soon.

That sure would be nice right about now.

One volcanic eruption can spew out thousands of times more ozone depleting gas than mankind has... you figure out how to stop that and THEN worry about the cows farting:purple: :purple: :purple: :purple:

I'm not saying that man's polution does not hurt the environment, but when you put it into persepective with what nature does itself it seems pointless to go ape *&%$ over. Relax North Korea, Iran and Syria will blow us all up way before global warming kills us......

Don't know who said that, but they were right, in a way....but also waaaay wrong. Actually, we are still at the tail end of the last ice age, just coming out of it. That's why the planet is getting warmer....ebb and flow...ebb and flow. From one ice age to another to another to another......

Yeah, and ya can't tell me that in the "blink of an eye" that man has been on this planet, we've done so much more damage than nature has done in a "long, long sleep". (Carl Sagan said that much better than I, but I hope you get the gist of it.)

Of course, back in the 70's, they also said we'd be converted over to the metric system completely by the end of the 80's.....uh huh....yeah.....:???:

It made it to 114 again today....I called the boss to tell him I was taking off early (after only 9 1/2 hours of work), and he said "Go ahead. I've been home for 3 hours already soaking up the A/C." Dirty bas................never mind.

It's nice here. Only around the mid 80's everyday for the last week or two.

Perfect weather to bring out the street bike and cruise around in a t-shirt!!

Obviously, but the earth's homeostasis (to some degree) has been had for millions of years. Volcanoes have always been active, and the amount of meteorites hitting the atmosphere has depleted. The cycles between ice ages are every 11,000 years or so due to cycles in underwater volcanic activity. And there is a "Mega" ice age every 105,000 (due to regular ice ages coinciding with the orbit of the earth hitting it's most elliptical cycle)

So what's changed since the 100,000 ice age phases and now? Man.

We are supposed to be in a cooling phase, and call me crazy, but my swamp ass says differently. :p

I'd like to note for the record that it wasn't me that brought that up. LOL! As bad as I wanted to.

--but if it's possible, I like him more now. Although it didn't help him gain the support he wanted at the G8 summit.

D'OH!!!!!!!!!! Sad thing is, I have a degree (well, 2 of them at least that could have been worth something) but it would have just put me in an outside job again anyway.....:(

Seriously, I'd rather be outside all day than stuffed into a cubicle in some dreary office somewhere shuffling papers.

You 3 degrees in my eyes. You were a Paramedic right? So, that's a Associate's Degree minimum, PLUS a certificate as well as several other emergent related certs like PALS etc. (which equals roughly the same amount of education as a BS)

I saw that curriculum, not easy at all. Props.

Yeah, now I got a dad-burned sinus infection, too. How the heck do ya get a cold and sinus infection in 112 degree weather?!? Yeah, yeah, I know, it's a virus, and has nothing to do with cold weather, but still.....it sucks big time. I'm thinking I prolly got it started when I was diving in the meter vault full of water last week....there were some pretty nasty organisms living in there before it flooded. I figger one of them got in my nose and has taken up residence. It's prolly working on boring into my brain and killing me as I tttttttttttttyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp
