Hard top questions

I recently bought a 97 Wrangler with a hard top on it and a soft top folded down in the back. I was wondering what the procedure is for correctly taking the top off (I have no garage to hang it from) and what I should know about putting the soft top on. I tried to take the electrical plug apart in the back for the rear wiper but it would not come apart. Any suggestions?

I don't have a garage to store the hard top either, best thing I found to do was to set the top on a tarp, and then put a second tarp covering the top. If the tail gate keeps popping up you can use a broom handel to hold it in place. Easiest way I found to take it off is to just undo all the bolts and the clamps on the front, then open the tail gate, and lift it straight up, walk back till you clear the Jeep. It's a two person job, having a third person to watch that you don't hit anything with the top is a good idea as well.



To take the wire harness off there might be a red slider that you have to pull to one side, then you press the release tab and it should just slide off.



if the bars for the soft top are already connected you should just have to fold it up, then put the edges of the soft top in the channels on the the tub. The door frames are pretty easy, there's only one way they can go.[addsig]
