Chrysler is adding hundreds of jobs, but those who want to work for the company must check the career site often, according to a source inside the company. He added, “You really should check the Chrysler Careers site three times a day. They’ve been opening up jobs for a few hours at a time, collecting the applications, and closing the window again.”
Chrysler will particularly need skilled production people (e.g. electricians and mechanics) as factories gear up for higher production and new products. Skilled trades people are already reportedly at a premium. The company will also need new line workers in a variety of plants, and a wide variety of people at the corporate offices, plants, and other locations. Most of the work is in Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois.
A brief look at the site this morning showed 17 skilled trades jobs, 23 in maintenance, 19 on assembly lines, 17 in supply chain management, and four in tool and die work, among many others. Production and design engineers are both needed, as are drivers. 23 jobs are open in IT.
