GAUGES

I've got 4 gauges that don't work. The gas, engine temp, oil pressure, and tachometer. Is there an easy way to fix or replace these gauges. It's an 84 CJ7.

I installed an aftermarket set of 3 gauges, but know 2 of those don't work. Has anyone seen this before?

I'm new here, so sorry if this has already been discussed alot.

you sure its the guages, could be the senders, could be the wiring, gauges are expensive. senders are not.

Hi,

Maybe it is a problem with the +12 volt or ground supply wires to the dash board. Usually each gauge has three wires: +12 volts (hot), Ground, and a varied resistance to ground (signal) wire. So alot of times the gauges all share a common +12 volts and/or ground wires. If one wire gets corroded or broken, you'd loose all those gauges. :mrgreen:
