Front axel vacume by-pass

Any thoughts on how to eliminate the the vacume line going to the front axel? Could a telex cable be used? Should I get real and just repair all the burnt & busted vac. lines!

There are kits to convert the front axle vacuum motor to a manual cable, however they are really expensive.

What you can do is convert it yourself, using a throttle cable to operate it. There is a great write-up on this, but I don't have the link to it right now (maybe Tug or someone does?).
