Ford bulldog trans?

I've found a Ford bulldog 4speed trans from a late 80's 4X4 truck that can be had pretty cheap. It's behind a 300-6 at the moment. Would this work and bolt up to a 304? If so is it a pretty strait forward swap?

As long as it uses that ford butterfly pattern on the bell housing, it will work. You bolt your bellhousing to the ford trans and then figure out the pilot and clutch fork

If you have a 76-79 bell housing on your 304, the ford trans (NP435 probably) should bolt right up to it but, you will need a adapter kit for your transfer case which will have a new main shaft you will need to install in the transmission. You should be able to use your jeeps clutch disc, pressure plate, clutch linkage, but will need a different pilot bushing. Novaks website should have all kinds of info on this swap, its a popular one.

Ok thanks guys, I'll check the Novak site out. I don't have a plan for this trans at the moment but I may hoard it up for a future project.
