Ok,I was able to find some answers to a couple questions from some past posts, and like I said in the 'New members" forum,I got a long list. But I'll start out with a couple things I'm doing first.
What I got: 98 Wrangler Sport,4.0,5 spd.
1.) I need to pull the dash out to work on the gauge cluster ( common problem I'm reading about are the gauges that stop working, and the"airbag"/"check engine"/ shift indicator coming on again off again) Meantime slapping the top of the dash works.
I'll use contact cleaner and dielectric grease also check the grounds.)Anything I'm missing?
2.) While it's apart, the Heater/AC fan control turns to either High or Off nothing in between. So before I get a replacement switch, will a later model Heater /AC control unit ,the type with the rotary knobs work with my existing wiring and also fit in the existing dash bezel? ( the one that's in there has the slider type controls.)
3.) When replacing the starter motor, the lower mounting bolt head snapped off leaving the threaded part of the bolt sticking out.( It's really fused in there)
So until I find the best way to deal with this, I've been soaking the threads with PB Blaster.
I don't own a torch...any suggestions?
Thanks & sorry about my long first post.
