Has anyone ever seen a CJ7 with an automatic transmission and manual brakes?
The reason I ask is because I have had brake pressure issues. The common swap around here when going to one tons is to put discs on the rear and run a manual master cylinder out of a 1974 Corvette.
I have done this, but I have two problems. One: the brake return spring is shot and doesn't pull the pedal back out. Two: the pushrod length must be wrong for the manual master cylinder (reason for pressure loss).
I had power brakes and removed the booster and cut down the pushrod for the swap. I can't get an accurate length for the push rod without the spring pulling the pedal out to the naturally resting position. If I pull it out with my foot, then I have no pressure when I push it back in.
