The Rambler/AMC 327 is not the same engine as the ever popular GM/ Chevy 327; I believe it is a lot heavier than the Chevy plus in the early days AMC didn’t standardize bell housing bolt patterns so that could be an issue. As an older odd ball I would expect rebuild parts for the 327 would be more expensive and harder to come by than the later AMC motor such as the 304,360, & 401. Rebuildable AMC 360 motors come up in the bone yard and Craig’s list for near nothing and should fit your engine compartment too.
