electrical problem

well hello to everyone!

im having an electrical problem with my 89 xj sport 2 door 5spd... when i try to use the turn signals they will work for a second then shut off, and stay compleatly off untill i turn off the jeep. also the windsheild wipers work, untill i try to use the signal then they go off... its really weird never had anything like this happen before

if anyone has any suggestions let me know!

the multifuction switch is probably the culprit. Pull the steering wheel to get to the switch. You can try using some electrical contact cleaner to clean the electrical contacts or polish them with some steel wool. Its amazing how much "stuff" gets into the steering wheel columm. These are kinda hard to find except for only in a wrecking yard so I would suggest trying to clean your original first before trying to find a replacement.
