anybody have any info on replacing this switch 2001 xj .. do u have to go behind the kick panel and unplug the butt connector.. or do i just unthread this switch and pull it straight out.. any help would be appreciated..

Carefully pull the switch out then disconnect the connector without letting the wire off your fingers so it doesn't pull back in the hole. connect the new switch without pushing in the plunger(some switches are adjusted by the door on the first time of installation).

so when you say it adjusts it self you mean when i shut the door it will adjust.. i actually just bought one and returned it cause it looked to long..

Yes, Self adjust by closing the door carefully on it to determine the full travel of the door.
