Howdy there peoples.

I need some real help here.

I have a 2006 TJ with a six and an auto trans.

The code light came on, I bought a 200 code reader it gives me 2 codes,

the Camshaft position sensor and an pending of the same thing.

I ordered the sensor and replaced it.
Now the motor is doing the same thing.
light comes on, jeep sputters then runs fine and the check engine light stays on.

Any help please i am going to the mountains sun and need a jeep that runs.

What are the actual codes? P1234?

Also did you reset teh PCM? Sometimes the correction needs to be learned for the PCM to correct timming, air and gas flow. First give us the codes by following the below. Then reset the PCM by disconnecting the battery for app 5 min. Turn your key to teh on position while disconnected.

This will drain all charge and reset the PCM to factory conditions and clear the codes. If the problem comes back withing a few days it's not fixed.

PS Save some money and return the code reader. If you turn your key on and off 3 times ending at on(without starting the vehicle) the codes will be shown in the odometer window. For freee

Well dam, I didnt know about the code part.. but i needed to clear the codes anyway..
So heres whats gone on so far.
The codes are p-0344 and the same pending,
Camshaft position sensor circuit intermintant B1, $10

if that makes any sence to anyone..
I replaced the Camshaft position sensor and that did not do it. Then i saw that the 06 tj is having problems with the oil drive assembaly that the grears where wearing out and dropping the iol presure and blowing the motors.
So the part is on backorder almost everywhere for 3 months. I found one at criswell jeep. 260 dollars later I replaced that and it too came with a new sensor, now the tird one in. And fyi not that hard but deals with timing so not that easy and alot to loose.
I cleared the codes with the reader, then did the cpu reset with the batt unpluged and shorted the hot bat cable and tuened the headlights on with the key on and clears them to factory.
Well all that and the code came bcak. Sooo
I took out the jet chip and no luck.

Took it to the dealer and they had a instruction in their code comuter to reset the pcu for just this problem.. # 5 relearn camshaft, crankshaft sensor...
That worked till the end of the parking lot..
So not happy right now..
Thats where I am, Any ideas from anyone???

Was the gear you took out worn? If so did you inspect the cam gear? Many people have gotten this repaced by the dealer for free. I also hear the crank position sensor could be at fault even just poor connectors or shorting wires.

PS Read one that the connectors for teh PCM needed cleaning and reseating. You have a Jet chip on there and it may have caused a bad contact there.

Just read a old post just like you wrote but they didn't post if it or how it was fixed.

Well a month later and alot of money later,
The crank shaft sensor and the cam shaft sensor and the oil drive plus 3 trips to the dealers, two diffrent ones, and the problem is not fixed. It happens less frequent now, but it still hapens.
Not sure what to do. None of the dealers will say anything about replacing this for free. Just more money and more money.

Did the dealer flash the PCM?, there is an updated PCM flash concerning that DTC under vehicle performance.
