connecting amp to the stock cd player/06wrang

anyone know what type of adapter would be needed to connect a Kenwood amp to the stock cd player in a 2006 jeep wrangler X ? I would think there would be no RCA jacks on the stock cd player.

You can use speaker level to rca adapters to convert to rca, but it's less than ideal. If you are dead set on using the stock head unit, I'd recommend getting an amp that has speaker level inputs.

I didn't want to ditch my stock head unit, because I liked the look, but eventually I swapped in a nice looking Pioneer head unit that has Ipod controls, subwoofer outputs, aux input, and a ton of other features for about $190 (Pioneer DEH-P5000UB CD Receiver). I'm VERY happy with it - a great upgrade over the stock unit, and it looks really nice.

thanks Terry. I discovered that my amp has the connecters you speak of,that I can use instead of the rca jacks...now my problem is trying to figure out which wires to slpice in to and run to the speaker level inputsknow of a link that shows wiring diagram for a stock cd player in a06 wrangler x?
nice lookin jeep you got there,by the way.

If you still need a wiring diagram for your factory Radio i will need the 3 alpha symbols on the face of the radio( rbk, res ,rbb etc.) and the last eight digit of the Vin #. E-mail me that info @ jeepconceps@stx.rr.com and i will pull up the complete schematic diagram for that Radio.
