Cj speedo lights

When I turn on my headlights, only the right indicator light of the right/left sides of speedometer lights up. But either of the blinker lights will blink when I use them. What would cause this? A burnt out bulb? Thanks for any help

It's a burned out light.

Simple enough, how can you get to it?

There are small sockets in the back of the cluster. Be careful spinning them out as they are easy to break, I know from experience I have broken 2 and the lightbulb parts fell inside the cluster.

Have you considered an LED upgrade? Since I purchased a dozen white LEDs to brighten up the meters on my old Cobra 142GTL unit I'm thinking of using the spares to brighten up my somewhat dull CJ insturment cluster. As LED's don't produce heat like incandescent I'm thining of using simple rubber grommets to hold them in place as I did on my radio. Food for thought
