I belong to several Ford truck boards, 'cause that's what I drive, the Jeep is really for my daughter. Anyway, there are well-documented problems with Bosch multi-electrode plugs in Fords. So that may be where that info came from. The late-model Ford ignition system does not get along well with multi-electrode plugs because the polarity is reversed on one bank, i.e. the spark actually fires from the electrode to the tip. In other vehicles I'm not aware of them having problems, except for trailjeep here.
Auto Zone seems to push the hell out of Bosch plugs though.
I use AC's in the family GM's, Autolites in the family Fords, and a friend who is an experienced mechanic swears up and down that Chryslers and Jeeps run best with Champion plugs. The Jeep had Autolite double platinums when I got it and when we did a compression check they looked pretty good, so we put them back in and it runs fine.
