Carnage Canyon - Boulder (yesterday)

It was a pretty cool trail ride yesterday. We ended up with about
30 Jeeps, toyota and ford trucks. We split into about 3
groups.

I was near the end. Two uphill areas became what we called uphill
luge runs. It was a real test of driver skill and ability. One guy
slid back down with just his spare tire on the back bumper leaning
against a tree keeping him from tipping over.

The waterfall was closed due to ice build up. The other obstacles
were all tested by the braver and/or modified among us but there were go-arounds for the not so brave.

Why is it called, Carnage canyon? There was some carnage. In
the "Squeeze," I lost the front driver side fender flare going up
and the passenger rear flender flare going down. Not much as they
are designed to come off in a crunch. One Bronco caught his read
pumpkin on a rock and drained his diff all over. He was able to
attain a partial seal and limp back to town. One guy lsot a bolt on
a heim joint and had to limp back to town, One Ranger busted his
driver side rear light assembly and got some trail pin-striping in
the same area. There were several bent idler arms and some steering
assembly problems.

It was a great group of people and a fun time. You can imagine that
with 30 vehicles there was some hurry up and wait, but that was to
be expected.

And... Since I installed the Extreme Flow OBA - I was a popular guy at the end of the trail...

I am sorry about the vanilla pics, but we have an organization here in Colorado that is fairly militant about trails and trail rides. Posting pics on there has to be fairly benign or the trail nazis will call you on it (whether they are right or wrong).

The temperature was warm and the trail was fairly clear and clean. There was flowing water in the creek, but a lot of ice also.

This the Mighty YJ taking to the trail. The Mighty YJ is my lil' rig.

The "Gatekeeper" can flip you from side to side. Lift is a must!

Tight trees, rocks and ice can make for a fun time!

Hope you liked 'em!

Very Brave! And some of them have the carnage to prove it! Mostly some paint touch up, or fender flare replacement (like mine), but some had fairly serious damage.

The Denver area has been hit with the weather this year. Back country trails just aren't available yet. That is the reason for the overwhelming turn out on this one!
